The primary objective of this initiative is to provide assistance to fishermen and their families who are unable to go to sea during the ban. Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed his concern for the well-being of fishermen and their families and emphasized the importance of supporting them during this challenging time.

Under the scheme, each eligible family receives financial aid of Rs. 10,000. This program has been in operation for five years, and during the latest installment, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy credited Rs. 108 crore into the bank accounts of over 23,000 fishermen from Konaseema district. These fishermen lost their livelihood due to pipeline works conducted by the public sector unit, ONGC.
