Ayushman Bharat Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana 2020

The Ayushman Bharat Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana was announced by the Chief Minister of Punjab. The main motive through the implementation of the scheme is to provide cashless treatment to all of the residents of Punjab state. The paperless treatment will be provided to the poor people of the state so that they can go to the hospital for their checkup and also undergo surgeries without any financial worries. Also, yearly incentives are provided under the scheme.

Eligibility Criteria for Punjab Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana

The common eligibility criteria to avail the benefit of the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana in Punjab is given below:-

  • The applicant must be a resident of Punjab state
  • The applicant must belong to the categories mentioned above.
  • Applicant must belong to below the poverty line category.
  • The applicant must hold a ration card.

Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana Registration Process

There is no registration process for the beneficiaries. The selected list has been prepared by the concerned authorities on the basis of the people who are below the poverty line and some of the ration card holders and also as per the different categories of the beneficiary which is mentioned above.

How to Check AB-SSBY Beneficiary List

Here is the complete process to know whether a family is entitled under Ayushman Bharat Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana (AB-SSBY) Scheme:-

STEP 1: Firstly visit the official website at https://sha.punjab.gov.in/shapunjab/index.php

STEP 2: At the homepage, click at the “CLICK HERE TO KNOW FAMILY ENTITLED UNDER ABSSBY? (ਕੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਏ.ਬੀ – ਐਸ.ਐਸ.ਬੀ.ਵਾਈ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੈ?)” link.

STEP 4: Afterwards, the AB-SSBY Scheme Beneficiary Search page will open as shown below:-


STEP 5: Here applicants can enter the Ration Card Number / PAN Number / Registration ID / Farmer or Journalist ID as per the search criteria. Moreover, Ration Card category people can even perform AB-SSBY beneficiary search by name.

Beneficiary Search Criteria (ਲਾਭਪਾਤਰੀ ਖੋਜ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਤਰੀਕਾ)

A) Ration Card Holder – If your ration card no is like ‘FAZ1234567’ then replace FAZ with 03000 and search with ‘030001234567’, if it is like MNS9809898 then replace MNS with 03000 and search with 030009809898.If your ration card is old, contact your local depot holder for new smart ration card number.

B) Farmer (j_form holder) – Search ID will be First Three Character of District Name + last 6 digit of aadhaar + first four character of your name. For example: if your name is Mohan from District Hoshiarpur with last 6 digit of aadhaar as 123456, then search id will be like: HOS123456MOHA

C) Construction Worker – Search ID will be the registration id issued by BOCWB, Punjab.

D) Small Trader – Search ID will be the PAN card number

D) Yellow Card and Accredited Journalist – Search ID will be First Three Character of District Name + last 6 digit of aadhaar with hypen after 3 digit + first four character of your name. For example: if your name is Harwinder from District Jalandhar with last 6 digit of aadhaar as 123456 with hypen (-) in between, then search ID would be: JAL123-456HARW

E-Cards Distribution for Beneficiaries

Till date, around 46 lakh e-cards have got generated under the Ayushman Bharat Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana. Over 4.66 lakh beneficiaries have availed cashless treatment of worth Rs. 528.08 crores in the empanelled hospitals across the state. Currently, the top 5 districts leading in e-card generation are Ludhiana, Amritsar, Patiala, Fazilka and Jalandhar. The state govt. has also reviewed the plan of the e-card generation agency and instructed them to issue e-cards to the entire beneficiary population within next 6 months. 

Punjab govt. has also gave a minimum target of generation of at least 10,000 e-cards per day to the agency. Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna is a flagship health insurance programme of the state. Hence it is to be assured that each and every beneficiary is issued a health card to make them aware of their eligibility under the AB-SSBY scheme. The state govt. will empower beneficiaries with the right to avail benefits of the scheme. All departments should proactively participate in e-card generation drive for creating awareness among their respective beneficiaries to come out and get their e-cards generated.

Core features of AB-SSBY Scheme

Here are the important features of Ayushman Bharat Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana (AB-SSBY) Scheme in Punjab:-

  • A cashless health insurance cover of Rs 5 Lakh per family per year.
  • Cashless secondary care & tertiary care treatment (1579 packages) in public & empanelled private hospitals of Punjab & Chandigarh.
  • 180 packages reserved for Government Hospitals.
  • Entitlement based Scheme.
  • Pre-existing diseases are covered and treatment package includes 3 day’s pre-hospitalization and 15 day’s post hospitalization expenditure.
  • Beneficiaries can avail health services at empanelled private and government hospitals of Punjab and Chandigarh.

Ayushman Bharat Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana for Farmers

Punjab Mandi Board has started Ayushman Bharat – Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana for all farmers of the state. This AB-SSBY is a state specific health insurance scheme in which farmers can avail cashless treatment of Rs. 5 lakh. Already registered farmers should contact the market committee offices for the following purposes:-

  • Verification of names of farmers.
  • To get e-cards.
  • To get names of family members added.
  • Information regarding government hospitals.
  • Information regarding private hospitals.

All the farmers who want to avail Punjab Ayushman Bharat Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana for Farmers should contact their respective market committee offices. Farmers needs to fill application form and carry supporting documents like J Form / Sugarcane Weight Slip. Farmers can visit the official website at shapunjab.in or mandiboard.nic.in. They can now apply for AB-SSY Scheme to get their name enrolled in the list of beneficiaries.

This scheme is functional for other category people of the state for which the hospital list & beneficiary list is still available at the official website. Similar to the process for other people, farmers also needs to get their e-cards prepared to avail cashless treatment at hospitals.

In Punjab, an announcement has been made related to the insurance for the frontline workers during the COVID-19 Crisis. This includes sanitation staff, Safaikaramcharis, ward boys, doctors, specialists Asha workers, paramedics, technicians, nurses and other health care, workers. The compensation amount of Rs. 50 Lakh will be given to the beneficiary in case of an accident. This scheme came into effect after 30th April 2020 and applicable for the period of 90 days.
