 Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana (MMUY) Portal at mmuy.gujarat.gov.in has been launched by Gujarat government. In this MMUY Scheme 2020-2021, govt. will provide interest free loans to women. Interested women can apply by filling Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana online application / registration form. The Mahila Utkarsh Juth consisting of urban and rural women can avail loans upto Rs. 1 lakh at 0% percent interest rate.

All the women self help groups (SHGs) would be able to apply by filling Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana Online Application / Registration Form. The main objective of Mukhya Mantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana is to empower women and to enable them to sustain their livelihood after COVID-19. All the women would be enabled to get loans easily in a hassle free manner. The loan’s interest would directly be paid by the Gujarat state government to banks.

The announcement for launch of Gujarat Mukhya Mantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana had been made in the Gujarat Budget 2020-21 presented on 26 February 2020. This self employment loan scheme was launched on 17 September 2020.

Gujarat Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana Online Application / Registration Form

The state govt. of Gujarat has earmarked a provision of Rs. 193 crore for Gujarat Mukhyamantri Mahila Kalyan (Utkarsh) Yojana 2020. In order to avail loans at o% interest rate, Mahila Utkarsh Juth consisting of urban and rural women will be able to apply online. For this purpose, the women can fill Gujarat Mukhya Mantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana Online Application / Registration Forms. 

Announced a new Mukhya Mantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana with Rs.193 crore provision to enable Mahila Utkarsh Juth consisting of urban & rural women avail loan up to Rs.1 lakh at zero percent interest as the State Govt will pay the interest directly to the bank.

 Just like interest free loan schemes in other states, the state govt. may invite scheme form at a dedicated portal or at the bank branches itself. After submitting the completed Mukhyamantri Mahila Kalyan Yojana Apply Online Form, women can avail loan up to Rs.1 lakh at zero percent interest. The state govt will pay the interest directly to the banks.                                                                                            

Gujarat Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana - Complete Details

Implementation of this scheme in rural areas by Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company Ltd. (GLPC) and in urban areas by Gujarat Urban Development Mission (GULM). The main objective of this scheme is to create 1 lakh Joint Liability Earnings and Savings Group (JLESG) and make 10 lakh women self reliant by encouraging joint economic activity through these groups.

The main features of this scheme are as follows

Under this scheme, if each group pays regular installments, Rs. Provision has been made to pay interest above Rs. 1 lakh from the Government.

The scheme will cover 60,000 JLESG in rural areas and 50,000 in urban areas. In which the amount of interest will be paid by the government to the lending institutions on behalf of the women's group.

For the successful implementation of this scheme, nationalized banks, rural banks, co-operative banks, private banks, co-operative societies and RBI Other recognized credit institutions - MFIs will also be promoted by the Government. (* May change subject to change)

Purpose of the scheme - To involve women in the Joint Liability Earnings and Savings Group (JLESG). Through government banks, private banks, co-operative banks and lending institutions, groups have been given Rs. 1.00 lakh lending. Provide self-employment and livelihood through credit.

Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana Target Beneficiary List (MMUY Beneficiary List)

10 women who want to get credit.

Women should be 18 to 6 years old.

Priority to widowed abandoned sisters.

Existing group whose loan is not outstanding.

Target: 1 lakh groups, 10 lakh women and 20 lakh family members out of which 30,000 groups in rural areas and 20,000 groups in urban areas.

Total budget - Rs. 16.00 crore

Financial support to women's groups

Women's groups: 1 lakh

Women group members: 10 lakh

Assistance Standard: Rs. Interest Assistance up to Rs.

Loan amount: Rs. 1 lakh

Interest: As per 15%, maximum Rs. 5,000 / -

Loan repayment: Monthly Rs. 10000 / - per annum as per installment of Rs. 1,50,000 / -

Out of which Rs. 1,00,000 loan recovery and Rs. 20,000 as savings.

Exemption in stamp duty: Exemption in stamp duty required for bank loan will be given.

All financial support will be eligible after the loan is approved after the formation of the above group.

Lending to JLEG in Gujarat Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana

The Gujarat government is planning to provide total lending upto Rs. 1,000 crore to groups to be registered as joint liability and earning group (JLEG). In the post-Covid socio-economic life style of the state, the government is committed to have women play a key role. The state govt. is planning to provide interest-free loans to 10 lakh women across the state under the new scheme.

Under the MMUY, 50,000 JLEGs will be formed in urban areas and 50,000 such groups will also be formed in rural areas. Each group will have 10 women members in it and these groups will be given interest-free loans by the government. The interest amount will be borne by the state government. The government has also decided to waive the stamp duty charges for the loans to be given to these women groups.


Around 2.75 lakh sakhi mandals registered in rural areas and urban areas will be eligible to avail benefits of the scheme provided they have repaid any bank loan taken or other borrowing. Around 27 lakh women are associated with these sakhi mandals across the state.

Small Business Loans to Women SHGs for Self Employment

These small business loans would enable women to become entrepreneurs & become job creators rather than jobseekers. Women in SHGs can then start their own business with this self employment loan amount and can earn regular income. The Gujarat Mukhyamantri Mahila Kalyan Yojana will make women self reliant and self dependent. There would be no collateral security or third party guarantee required to avail loans under Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana.

In the Gujarat Mukhyamantri Mahila Kalyan (Utkarsh) Yojana, there would be no application fees and processing charges to avail the loans. In case any person demands money to sanction the loan amount, it would be considered as fraud and women can directly report this matter to police.

In rural areas of the state, the MMUY will be implemented by the Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company, while the Gujarat Urban Livelihood Mission will implement it in urban areas.

Launch of MMUY Scheme by CM Vijay Rupani

CM Vijay Rupani had launched Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana (MMUY) on 17 September 2020, birthday of PM Narendra Modi. In this scheme, govt. will provide interest-free loans to women’s self help groups (SHGs) in the state. Gujarat Mukhyamanatri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana will benefit around 2.51 sakhi mandals registered in rural areas and 24,000 sakhi mandals registered in urban areas. These women SHGs will be eligible for Mukhya Mantri Kalyan Yojana if they have repaid any bank loan taken or other borrowing.
