 Social Justice Department is inviting Kerala Vidyajyothi Scheme 2021 online application form at sjd.kerala.gov.in. In this scheme, the Kerala govt. will provide financial assistance for purchase of uniforms and study materials to physically handicapped students. The state cabinet has given approval for Vidya Jyothi Scheme aiming at the welfare of disabled students. The main objective of Kerala Vidyajyothi scheme is educational upliftment of differently abled students. In this scheme, Divyangjan studying in class 9th, 10th, +1, +2, ITI, Polytechnic, VHSC, Degree, Diploma, Professional courses and Post Graduation would be given assistance amount. The transfer of money would be done directly into the bank account of persons with disability through DBT mode.

Recently, Social Justice Department with the help of Kerala Social Security Mission conducted a State-wide disability survey. As per the reports, there are 7,79,793 differently abled persons out of which 1,30,799 persons are below the age of 18 years. So to provide support and encourage such specially abled people, govt. will provide aid for purchasing uniforms and study materials.

Step 1: Firstly visit the official website at http://sjd.kerala.gov.in/. The Kerala Social Justice Department homepage will appear as shown here


Step 2: All the new users can click at the “Scheme” tab present in the main menu or directly click at http://sjd.kerala.gov.in/schemes.php. The new page comprising of list of Kerala govt. schemes will open.

Step3: Click at the “Vidyajyothi Scheme – Financial Aid for uniforms and study materials to PH students” link to open the scheme details page. At this page, go to the “Documents” section and click at the “Application Forms – Financial Aid for uniforms and study materials to PH students” link
Step 4: The Kerala Vidyajyothi Scheme application form PDF will open as below which can be easily downloaded through online mode.

Step 5: All the applicants can download this scheme form in PDF format. Then applicants will have to enter their necessary details accurately in this Kerala Vidya Jyothi Scheme application form and submit it to the concerned authorities.

Upon subsequent verification of filled in application form along with documents, the concerned officer will approve your form. All the applicants will then start getting financial assistance for study materials and uniform under Vidyajyothi Scheme directly into their bank accounts.

Eligibility Criteria for Vidyajyothi Scheme in Kerala

Each applicant will have to fulfil the described eligibility criteria to become eligible for the Vidyajyothi Scheme in Kerala:-

  • The applicant must be studying in Government / Aided Institution.
  • Attested copy of certificate issued by the Medical Board proving that the applicant has 40% or more disability.
  • Applicant’s annual family income is not applicable under this scheme.
  • The Head of Institution should attest the duly filled application form.
  • Priority must be given to BPL category students.

The duly filled application form has to be submitted to the concerned District Social Justice Officers.
