As of August 24, 2023, a total of 281.5 million employees have been issued E-Shram Cards. The Ministry of Labor estimates that there are approximately 380 million unorganized employees in India. In the year following its introduction, this percentage increased to 74%, showcasing the program's impact.

For the upcoming five years, the portal has been allocated approximately Rs 704 crore in funding. During the initial phase of the process, each employee is issued an E-Shram Card bearing a unique 12-digit identification number. Notably, the government has integrated the E-Shram portal with the National Career Service (NCS) Portal, with plans to further connect it to two other platforms – Aseem, a directory of skilled workers, and Udyam, a portal catering to Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs), as per the Labor Ministry's initiatives.
