 The Central government has initiated the Pashu Aadhar Card 2023 online application process to establish a comprehensive numerical database specifically designed for dairy animals. The Pashu Aadhar ID is structured akin to the Aadhaar number for human identification. The primary objective of the Union government is to systematically monitor the population and well-being of livestock by allocating them unique identification numbers (UIDs). Prime Minister Modi, during the inaugural ceremony of the World Dairy Summit in Greater Noida on 12th September 2022, emphasized the commencement of this initiative. The database will be compiled utilizing biometric identification methods, as outlined by the PM.

Under this new Pashu Aadhar Card system, cows and other animals will be allocated UID numbers, encompassing comprehensive details similar to the Aadhaar card's human identification particulars. About Pashu Aadhar Card

Pashu Aadhaar is designed to bolster the dairy sector within India. The National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) is in the process of crafting the Information Network for Animal Productivity and Health (INAPH), which will be recognized as Pashu Aadhaar. Within this program, all animals will be equipped with an ear tag bearing a barcoded 12-digit unique identification number. INAPH will serve as the repository for comprehensive data related to registered animals, encompassing details about their species, breed, and lineage. Additionally, it will include specifics about calving, vaccination records, and milk production statistics.

The inception of Pashu Aadhaar was initially proposed in 2015 by a government committee with the primary aim of curbing cattle smuggling. The committee's recommendation followed a Supreme Court directive addressing a plea against cattle trafficking. As per a 2019 report, the government's initial phase of the project aimed to cover 94 million productive "in milk" female cows and buffaloes, with plans to subsequently extend coverage to other bovines such as calves, males, and strays. However, by 2019, approximately 22.3 million cows and buffaloes had been issued their UID, and their comprehensive data was integrated into the INAPH database. Presently, the project boasts a registration of 226,763,928 animals on the INAPH website.

Please complete your registration on the INAPH portal. Upon confirmation of your login details, you will gain access to the INAPH Application through the following methods:

If you are registered as an Offline farmer, you will receive an SMS on your mobile phone containing your login information and a link to download the INAPH Farmer Android Application. Alternatively, you can directly log in to the INAPH portal and download the INAPH Farmer Android Application.

For Online farmers, once registered, you will receive an SMS on your mobile phone with your login details, allowing you to start using the INAPH Farmer Web Application by logging directly into the INAPH portal.

Furthermore, farmers can proceed with animal registration by following these two steps:

a) Access the INAPH portal by logging in.

b) Click on the 'animal registration' link and input all the necessary details. This process will enable farmers to obtain the UID number for their cattle.

INAPH offers the following features outlined below:

Platform: The INAPH application is designed across various platforms, including Desktop Application, Android Application, and Web-Based Application.

Application Modes: INAPH functions primarily in two different modes. The online mode enables direct communication between end users and the central server database, seen in applications such as Desktop Online and Web-Based. The offline mode allows end users to input data locally and later synchronize these entries with the central server when connectivity is available, demonstrated in applications like Desktop Offline and Android-based systems.

Sync Middleware: The Sync Middleware is utilized to synchronize offline data to and from the end-user database for transactions conducted in offline mode.

Reporting: INAPH provides Role and Hierarchy-based Reporting, catering to one or multiple functional areas. It offers decision support and operational assistance as per specific requirements, delivering real-time alerts to prompt necessary actions.

System Architecture & Deployment: The system is crafted to meet the diverse information needs of farmers, field technicians, and End Implementation Agencies (EIAs) like Milk Unions/Federations, Producer Companies, analysts, and policymakers. The application is operable on computers, netbooks, and handheld devices (such as Windows phones and Android tablets) with internet connectivity. Data collected in the field is stored in the central database at NDDB, Anand. In situations where network connections are absent (offline mode), provision is made to capture and store data for subsequent synchronization with the central server via the GPRS network. INAPH can send messages to farmers, offering pertinent advice regarding their animals when necessary. Web-based reports are accessible to managerial teams and decision-makers for analysis purposes.
