 The Uttar Pradesh Government initiated the One District One Product Scheme in 2023 with the aim of generating job prospects for 25 lakh unemployed individuals throughout the state. As part of this program, the state government plans to allocate Rs. 25,000/- to local artisans and business owners over the next five years. This scheme was first introduced by the UP government on January 24, 2018. The comprehensive list of products designated for each district under the ODOP initiative can be found at odop.in.

The One District One Product Scheme is projected to elevate the state's GDP by up to 2 percent. The government aims to execute this scheme in partnership with numerous industries operating across different states. Additionally, under the Ek Zila – Ek Utpadan Scheme, each district will be allocated a specific product.

District Wise Product List for ODOP Scheme

After the successful implementation of One District One Product Scheme 2023, all the products will get international recognition. Moreover, these products will become brands and also become an identity of brand UP. This scheme will emphasize on the raising the quality of these products so that these products can compete in the international level.

UP ODOP Scheme – Incentives to SC / ST, Minority & Poor Entrepreneurs to Promote MSMEs

The Uttar Pradesh government is set to extend incentives to SC/ST, Minority, and economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs as part of the One District One Product Scheme. Within the ODOP Scheme, the government aims to foster Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) by nurturing traditional industries. For enterprises set up by economically weaker sections, the state government plans to provide subsidies/margin money on the project cost as outlined below:

Projects with costs up to Rs. 2.5 million will receive a 25% subsidy or a maximum of Rs. 6,25,000 (whichever is lower) from the state government.
For projects costing between Rs. 2.5 million and Rs. 5 million, a subsidy of 20% or a maximum of Rs. 6,25,000 (whichever is higher) will be provided.
Initially, the state government will offer this subsidy as margin money through commercial banks. After successfully operating the enterprise for two years, this amount will be converted into a grant.
Projects with costs ranging from Rs. 5 million to Rs. 1.5 billion will receive margin money of up to 15% or a maximum of Rs. 1 million (whichever is higher).
If the project costs exceed 1.5 billion, the government will provide margin money/grant of 10% or a maximum of Rs. 2 million (whichever is lower).
Entrepreneurs from the general category are required to contribute 10% of the total project cost through their own resources. However, this requirement has been relaxed to 5% for SC/ST/OBC/Minorities/Women and Physically Challenged Individuals.
The state of Uttar Pradesh holds the potential to evolve into a trillion-dollar economy, boasting abundant socio-economic resources in terms of a skilled workforce, handicrafts, and traditional industries. This scheme is projected to create job opportunities and avenues for self-employment for 1.2 million young individuals over the next two years through ODOP.
